Dive In This is my first book by Barbara O Neal. I instantly connected to her writing style, her storytelling, her characters. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a fan of mermaids. I’m at a loss for words to convey how much I loved this book, how sad I was to finish it. When you feel as though you’re losing friends, well that says something. The story weaves between settings, the past and present...there are many opportunities to feel lost. I wasn’t. This is poignant, horrifying, happy, yet confusingly always amazing. My heart for those sisters, their connection. Read this book. I’m trying to decide what my next from this author will be...Another beautiful offering from one of my favorite authors I love the women’s fiction that Barbara O’Neal writes. I love the quirks of the characters in this book: the Art Deco mansion (I didn’t know there was such a thing!), the fountain pen inks, the Moreton fig trees in New Zealand. The resolution of the protagonist’s sorrow at the end is very fulfilling; a good ending.Another Great Book from Barbara O’Neal I’ve just spent six hours drinking up every word of this book. As usual, Barbara knows how to pull you into the people and places she writes about. As usual, I’m sad when the story ends, because her characters are so rich, I just want to stay in the book a little longer. Thank you for another great book, just in time for my birthday!
