Read, enjoy, solve the mystery, and learn This is an excellent and well written book. Characters are introduced long before Adam Daigleish, and I wondered when the mystery going to begin. P.D. James is very good at getting the reader into the setting, and the vocabulary is challenging. There definitely is an opportunity to enrich the reader's intellect. I love the mysteries that are real mysteries but teach you something as well. Please try it. You will be glad you did.Not one of the best This story kind of drags on. I felt like there were too many sidetracks into the miscellaneous emotions of the female detective that really didn't add much to the story line. The actual story of the murder and the surrounding incidents and people connected to it was quite interesting and the letter from one of the suspects towards the end of the book made it almost a worthwhile slog, but no, I can't really say I would recommend it.A different perspective Different is not always good but Ms. James delivers another riveting mystery taking the reader deep into the life of the eventual victim. I enjoyed the story but admit to some anxiety concerning the arrival of AD and his team of detectives. I was ready for his cool temperament to assuage the chaotic personalities of the Court.
