The practice tests give students practice in reading and analyzing fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The passages are a mix of old and new literature, and discuss historical figures that students will be interested in, such as Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. The format of the practice tests gives students a chance to see what they will see on Common Core tests. For example, some questions have more than one possible correct answer, so students will have to read the answers closely and think about what they mean.

This book is packed full of questions that will help your student to become more comfortable with the Common Core standards. The questions are broken down into groups by standards, so if your child is having problem’s with a certain standard they can practice those types of question. Plus the online workbooks are great!

Really liked this book. I think that it could be very useful for pre-assessments and bell ringers.
Stories are leveled and there are a lot of excerpts incorporated in this book.
I would also use some of the examples for exit tickets.
A helpful resource for the PARCC or Smarter Balanced assessment.
